I’m going to be real with you—I hate selling things, especially when it’s something as special as my Oyster 485 sailboat. After four months on the market and countless viewings, I haven’t received a single offer. 😔

So why isn’t it selling? I think part of the issue is the $300,000 price tag. For the same amount, buyers can get a newer model like a 2015 Bavaria—a boat that may look shiny on the outside but doesn’t match the build quality and sailing performance of my Oyster. It feels like potential buyers aren’t looking “under the hood” to see the real value this yacht offers.
