Dodging ships and fishing boats sailing through a thunderstorm in the middle of the night. Pirates on one side, fishing boats on the other and in the middle a ship superhighway that we need to cross without getting run down and sunk.
Why do we do this? Well after one night of that, one of us almost decided not to do it any more and to give up on sailing around the world.
Sailing through an area we had been dreading for months we tackle the Malacca straits. Not the easiest passage we have ever attempted. Sailing Florence around the world and living aboard full time is not easy.
We are a British couple who set off from England in 2016 to fulfil our dream of sailing around the world on our 37ft sail boat, Florence. Along the way we share the live aboard lifestyle with the highs and lows of travelling around the world by boat.
