Even Sailors Need a Holiday | S4 E33

After months of sailing through tropical heat, our family traded turquoise seas for snow-capped peaks. This rare adventure took us from Langkawi, through Singapore and Sydney, all the way to New Zealand — where we swapped bikinis for beanies and helped Minnie and Pa take their first sail on their own catamaran before heading south to Mount Ruapehu for our first time in the snow.

Contrary to popular belief, living on a sailboat isn’t one long holiday. Running an ocean-going home means constant planning — weather, water, safety, and food. So stepping away for a week on land was a much-needed reset: family time, long hot showers, cool air, and the chance to just be.

Back onboard Happy Days, it was time to get serious — haul-out was waiting!
