In this latest installment of our captivating series, we take you on a rollercoaster ride as our journey on the Leopard 45 sailing catamaran concludes in St Martin. Join us as we navigate unexpected events, find help from good Samaritans and celebrate life onboard. A Good Samaritan to the Rescue After a wonderful time in St Martin, we headed out for breakfast. Upon returning, we realized that our engine blowers were on and our anchor alarm was blaring! Thankfully, a kind stranger spotted our anchor dragging and re-anchored us, saving the day. Our gratitude to this person is immeasurable. The Inverter Issue While we were busy exploring St Martin, our inverter needed repairs. The situation seemed dire; if it couldn’t be fixed on the spot, the technician had to remove it from the boat. But alas, it was repaired, and our journey continued. An Unexpected Encounter Little did we know that the young man who helped us with our inverter, Saul, had once been snorkeling with his dad at Pigeon Island when we also happened to be there. Coincidence? We think not! The world is indeed a small place. Floating Restaurant To break free from routine, we dined at a unique floating restaurant in Grand Cost. Our gluten-free pizza was unfortunately out of stock but replaced with delectable tuna – still a memorable experience. Drunk Yoga on Spirit of St Martin The Spirit of St Martin was hosting a party, and we decided to join in. We even indulged in a round of Drunk Yoga! Despite Adrian’s heightened spirits (and state), everyone had an unforgettable time. Broken Washing Machine When our washing machine broke, it was clear that we needed power to fix the issue. Through testing, it seemed like there was power in the cord; however, MacGyver stepped in and solved this conundrum with ingenuity. Nick and Kelly’s Visit Our friends Nick and Kelly from the channel ‘Sailing Sator’ joined us for an unforgettable week in St Martin. Their presence enhanced our journey, particularly as Nick is adept at solving issues – handy when your washing machine is acting up! The Inverter Works Finally, after a thorough examination, the inverter problem was solved. The outlet powering our machine had issues; upon changing to an extension cord, it worked perfectly! Our trusty machine continues to serve us well. Leaving St Martin With many memories made, our time in St Martin came to a close. We bid farewell to the stunning island and continued our journey north. The Parasor Saga We met fellow cruisers SV Happy Together who had successfully retrieved their parasor after it drifted away. We vowed to never lose ours! Journey Continues Heading towards St John and eventually to Maine, we relished every moment spent on our Leopard 45 catamaran. Final Thoughts As we wind down this chapter in St Martin, the memories created and friendships made are cherished. Stay tuned as we embark on our next adventure!
