S1E57. We Found GAS Where It Should NEVER Be! 😳 | Dangerous Boat Repair
Welcome back to Sailing UV — the greatest sailing show on earth! 🌊
This week we're getting dragged back to work, and things get a little more serious than your average boat project.
We start with a boat that came in with an electrical problem — an engine that was randomly losing voltage and shutting down. But once we started digging into it, we discovered something we definitely didn't want to find…
⛽ Gasoline had gotten into the rig tube and damaged the engine's power cables and wiring harness.
So it's time to tear into it, figure out what happened, replace what was damaged, and get this boat back where it belongs.
Then we're jumping between a few more projects, including:
🔧 Marine electrical troubleshooting
⛽ Tracking down a fuel-system problem
⚡ Replacing damaged power cables and wiring
📡 Installing and programming Garmin VHF/AIS equipment
🚤 Getting an electric trolling motor sorted out
⛵ Working on another little sailboat
🐕 And, of course, plenty of Violet being Violet
And because apparently she has a personal vendetta against marine wildlife, we also get some classic Violet vs. the seals footage. 😂
Meanwhile, UV — our Henry Morgan 57 catch-rigged project boat — is still waiting for her turn as we continue working toward our ultimate goal of refitting her for circumnavigation.
There are some BIG projects coming up, and we're getting closer and closer to showing you what we've been working on.
