We’re here in the Tuamotu Islands of French Polynesia, and we are really and truly in the middle of nowhere out here. About 3,000 miles of open ocean lies between us and Mexico to the north east, and another 3,000 or so in the other direction to New Zealand. We felt like the luckiest family in the world to be able to call this place home for a while, but unbelievably, on this morning, these islands revealed another side of themselves that we can’t even put into words…
