We’ve been sailing in Europe for a year and a half and we have had some insane highs, and some low lows. There is a lot to love about this place and it’s safe to say that our experiences here have changed our lives.
For someone who grew up in California, Europe always seemed to me like a magical world. A place where the very very old is somehow intertwined with the modern. Where Ernest Hemmingway sat in streetside cafe’s drinking liquors that I can’t pronounce, switching from one language to another as he discussed art and love and war or whatever.
I knew that all civilizations have a “Culture” but it seemed like somehow Europe had more of it.
Now that we’ve been sailing here for 18 months I can say that some of the stereotypes have held up and some have not. And this week, as we sail away from this fascinating continent we want talk about our thoughts on this extremely unique part of the world, the things we liked and the things we could do without.
