The Marina Transformation Our rendezvous with Captain Farrell led to a meeting about cleaning up and starting anew. With the marina’s new ownership, improvements are visible, making us hopeful for brighter days ahead. Fire Hazard Averted! Our previous power connector posed a risk of fire. It was causing smell and sparks, prompting an immediate need for change. An order for a SmartPlug 30-amp kit from Defender commenced our electrical system upgrade. A Tale of Electrical Surprises The saga continued with multiple electrical issues, such as the water bump malfunctioning. After much trial and error, including unclogging kitchen sinks and addressing pressure sensor problems, we finally found relief. A Tantalizing Trout Tale Our adventure included meeting friends who gifted us a massive trout. The generosity not only filled our bellies but also provided delightful company during the installation process. Embracing the Challenge with New Connections The real challenge lay in rewiring parts of our electrical system, particularly around the selector switch. With meticulous attention to detail and a willingness to learn, we began installing new wires for the smart plug. Understanding Old Wires and Components As we started replacing old components with modern solutions, it became apparent that certain elements were better left unchanged. The lesson learned was the importance of understanding each component’s purpose in our yacht.
