They’re supplying the Elcano World Challenge with BLUE OCEAN® Doublebraid, a line made from 75% recycled plastic bottles (rPET) that keeps the same handling, strength, and elongation you expect from standard polyester—just with a lower footprint.
The BLUE OCEAN® rPET yarn itself is GRS-certified and delivers performance equivalent to virgin polyester.
Marlow also offers Bio-Based Dyneema®, using ethylene sourced from pulp/timber industry waste via the ISCC mass-balance approach—so the fiber’s performance is identical to conventional Dyneema®, while reducing reliance on fossil feedstocks and cutting CO₂.
