Make your internet load shedding proof for R400.00
So I was tired of having no fibre during load shedding, and wasn't willing to pay multiple thousands for an inverter just to run the fibre router and the WiFi router. Fortunately I came up with a much more cost effective solution. If you already have a 10000mah power bank it'll cost you under R200, but even if you don't it'll cost you just about R400.

Or try find something cheaper. I have another two 10000mah power banks at home, and they both also work. The only reason I bought the big one was to test it for my office.
Sailing Electra
In late 2021 we bought a 1976 Catalac 9M catamaran sight unseen that had been wasting away on land for years. Flew to Europe to go check it out and discovered the engines were seized, the wiring a death trap and every through hull valve crumbled when touched. I'd been building ebikes and scooters for years and decided I'd repower it as an electric. My wife and I spent 4 months peeling away all the rot, and pulling out all the wiring so we could start again from scratch. Eight months of very hard work in some icy cold weather and the boat was finally ready for the water. It now has two 6kW electric outboards, 3200W of solar and a 14.4kwh lithium battery bank. We've taken it from Croatia where we bought it, to Venice and then all the way through Croatia, back to Italy and now to Greece where we are today. We run everything off solar, the motors, cooking, making water and heating it, we even have a washing machine and dishwasher! We love this boat 🙂
