We set off from Mary Bay on the island of Santa Ana and head for Star Harbour on Makira Province, hoping to get some food and an internet connection.
We left Star Harbour very early in the morning due to security issues, setting sail towards The Three Sister Islands off the coast. We had to change our plans when a heavy rain squall hit us as we neared the land.
Our next stop was to be in Selwyn Bay at Uki Ni Masi Island. From there an overnight stop on the eastern end of Makira Island at Marau Bay before the short sail to Marau Sound and Tavanipupu Island.
We share some of the past history of the island, which doesn’t appear to get many visitors these days.
