We sail from Kea to Syros in the Cyclades aboard our Lagoon 42 catamaran, starting with a beautiful easy passage before the wind builds to around 25 knots.
What begins as a relaxed Greek island sail turns into a proper sailing day, with rain, stronger wind, and two reefs in the main as we make our way across to Syros.
Once we arrive, life slows down again. There is the usual full-time boat life rhythm — supermarket run, fuel, checking in on the boat, and getting settled in a new place.
I also get back on the water to keep learning how to wingfoil. After years of windsurfing and wavesailing in Western Australia and New Zealand, I thought foiling would come naturally… but it is a completely different game. There is a lot of falling, a lot of getting back up, and a few small moments where it finally starts to make sense.
This episode is a mix of real cruising life in Greece: sailing the Cyclades, changing weather, reefed sails, family boat life, island jobs, and trying to learn something new on the water.
We’re Sailing Bluefish — Fredrik from Sweden, Laura from the UK, and our two New Zealand-born boys, living full-time aboard our Lagoon 42 catamaran in the Mediterranean.
Thanks for watching — it means a lot to us.
