We bought Avocet in 2018 as newly weds, fresh out of college with a small budget and a dream to explore what lies beyond the horizon. This channel shares the details of our renovations, redesigns, and refits while we simultaneously juggle our respective media businesses offscreen to keep this whole operation afloat. After months of projects, we finally put the tools away to make our break for Catalina Island where we planned to rendezvous with our friends aboard SV Esprit. This was an exciting trip for us… it was our first-night passage without additional crew, we almost lost our boat in a storm, and really tested our quick thinking skills as sailors. Plus we had a lot of fun soaking up the sunshine and snorkeling for hours on end. Little did we know this would be our last sailing trip of the year before we flew east to Annapolis, then got our hands dirty in the boatyard upon our return… but more on that soon 🙂
