BAHAMAS BOUND, a half dozen draw bridges, and a midnight departure to the Gulf Stream!!
This week we finish up our final details for shoving off – vet visits, provisioning, and fueling up. But we’re soon sailing down the Intracoastal Waterway towards Palm Beach to stage ourselves for a hopefully-smooth Gulf Stream Crossing at the right angle to account for drift from the Stream’s strong current. Along the way we run the gauntlet of a half dozen draw bridges, crash a marina pool, face off with a tug boat, and do some safety prep while at anchor at Lake Worth. Then as the sun sets and a pitch black night sets in, we head out for an overnight passage of offshore sailing to the Abacos!!
