What does a boat need be a better ocean cruiser? Bulwarks! They give slightly more freeboard to help keep ocean waves off the deck, and more practically, they give you something to walk on when heeled over really far while bluewater cruising.

Herby builds the supports for the bulwarks with Totalboat Silica Thickener and Polyester Resin and then covers over the joint with 1708 fiberglass. This is the initial tabbing which will be further reinforced during later stages of the build.

Right now, the bulwarks are just going to support the tent that I’m building to cover the boat and let me work regardless of the weather.
