Having just transited the Devil’s Backbone on the north end of Eleuthera, we’re dropped off near beautiful Harbour Island. We seize the day with a stop at Man Island before continuing to our anchorage.
We spend the next day touring the ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS Dunmoretown, where all the rich people come to stay in Eleuthera. The marinas are full of mega yachts and the streets are full of colorful hotels, vistas, and restaurants. On the east side of the island is famous pink sand beach, due to crushed up coral. We find it to be the place to be on a Sunday afternoon, and chill there for a bit before a late lunch with the biggest conch sandwich I’ve ever seen!
We realize we have a weather window coming up in our favor to make the 950 jump from Eleuthera down to St. Martin, and get the boat in passage ready mode.
