After taking a little time to ourselves after recovering from the tragic news of Jessica’s brother’s passing, we’re now in Antigua and have a few days before the excitement of Antigua Sail Week begins.

Realizing that our cupboards are getting empty since our last big provisioning trip was in Florida, we take the bus to the capital of St. John to hit a big and modern grocery store. Along the way we explore the town a bit, find their HUGE fresh market, and take in a lunch of shwarma and local beer.

A few days later, friends begin to arrive and we start to take full advantage of the company. Going out with our long time friends Bill and Grace of s/v Calico Skies, we find a snorkel spot at the entrance to Falmouth Harbour, and Grace even catches a stingray on film!

With love from Antigua!

How Can a Light Switch Be SO COMPLICATED??!! (MJ Sailing – Episode 381)

**On a boat like this, even installing a LIGHT SWITCH can turn into an all-day project. 😂** After four weeks of working on the boat, we’ve learned a few things — including some lessons about painting that we definitely wish we’d learned sooner! I’ve been spending most of my time outside in the bla...

Painting the Accent Walls On Our Home Built Catamaran (MJ Sailing – Episode 380)

Hello everyone! We've been a little quiet over the past month, but it's been one of those stretches where we've had a dozen different projects happening at once—lots of progress behind the scenes, even if nothing has quite reached the finish line yet. Some of what's been keepin...

This week, we begin fitting the Vetus hatch frames that will eventually become the windows and emergency exits for our 44-foot performance cruising catamaran. Although the hatches themselves won't be permanently installed until we're much closer to launch, now is the time to make sure ever...

Time to go from just a sailor to a Captain.

Finally starting the process of getting my captain’s license ⚓📚 With a charter for us coming up in Greece this fall, I knew I couldn’t keep putting it off any longer — so I’ve officially started the Mariners Learning System courses. One thing I really like so far is that everything is online and s...
