We've made it to Naousa, time for hiking and watersports! (Sailing Dakini - Leave to Roam Ep. 83)
It is a short hop around the northern side of Paros Island to get from Parakia to the second largest town on the Island, Naousa. As usual, in this episode it is the weather that moves us on as we need to find somewhere with good shelter from the northerlies. First we do a quick resupply off the main town, but not long after we are off to tuck under the cliffs of the bay to the north.
This is a magic spot, and it is great fun watching the other boats pile in to escape the same strong northerly. Possibly the first meltemi of the season. This turns out to be a great spot to try our wing foiling skills again, this time on the SUP. Al also spends a few hours exploring the beautiful and remote parkland on the northern peninsula. Beautiful.

Al, from New Zealand and Kel from Australia met through work in 2010 and have been together ever since. Always infected by the travel bug they finally decided to head off on an adventure and started with Vietnam and Laos before heading to Sri Lanka, India, then Cambodia and Indonesia. Their mission is to explore as many off the beaten track places as possible through a slow travel philosophy on a tight budget.
UPDATE!!! After a few years of saving (thanks Covid) they finally did it. They now own DAKINI, a gorgeous Lagoon 421, and are (re) learning to sail while exploring the Mediterranean.

We are Kel and Al, a couple from New Zealand and Australia who have always had a passion for travel. In January 2018 we left our full time jobs and started to travel the world. We spent two years travelling on a budget through South East Asia documenting our adventures as we went before we found a new dream, to buy a boat! Fours years of hard work scrimping and saving led us to our dream. We introduce you to our home Dakini. She is a 2010 Lagoon 421 and we love her. Purchased in Greece we started our adventure cruising the greek islands. Two years later we have sailed all over Greece, Italy, Turkey and Malta with a winter in Tunisia. Our plan for 2026 is to explore Albania, Italy, Malta, France and Spain before the biggest adventure of our lives, crossing the Atlantic around New Years. Exciting times ahead.
