Stocking Our Boat Like We’ll Never See Land Again! Ep-213
If we’re going to cross the Pacific… we need to be ready for weeks without seeing land 🌊
In this episode, we take provisioning seriously (maybe a little too seriously 😅). We start by building a master shopping list for everything we think we’ll need to survive the crossing—then head out to stock up.
We spend thousands of dollars at Walmart loading up on dry goods, canned food, and anything that’ll last… before heading to Aldi for fresh produce, meat, and dairy.
But the real work starts when we get back to the boat…
We unbox everything, remove labels from cans (to avoid cockroaches 😬), deep clean the bilges, freeze flour to kill any bugs, vacuum seal individual portions of meat, and somehow find space to store it all onboard.
It’s a full-on mission to turn Escapade into a floating pantry—because once we leave… there’s no quick trip to the shops.
This is everything it takes to provision a sailboat for one of the biggest ocean crossings in the world.
