The Sailing Competition That’s Always On | Speed Stick Update

The Global Speed Stick is the sailing competition that’s always on.

Any boat. Any location. Any day.

Record your fastest GPS speed, submit it to the leaderboard and see how you compare with sailors around the world.

The Speed Stick has now reached an incredible 150 entries, representing 26 countries and 59 different boat classes.

In this July update, we welcome the latest sailors, celebrate new personal bests and meet competitors sailing everything from Hobie Waves and Hobie 16s to trimarans, monohulls, F18s and foiling A-Class catamarans.

Highlights include:

A father-and-son team on only their second-ever outing
A sailor’s first experience on a full-sized catamaran
New boats and countries joining the competition
A 14-year-old crew helping a Hobie 16 reach 23.81 knots
The fastest Hobie 16 solo speed on the leaderboard
Foiling A-Class speeds above 30 knots
The outright 33.8-knot Speed Stick record
