There is a typhoon off the coast of Japan making it a cold and rainy day, so I have turned my attention to passage planning and preparing for the voyage in 8-months’ time.

I am grateful to Kirk, Paula, Rick, and Maurice who all have extensive passage experience and have given me advice freely, and to all those on the Pacific Solo team assisting so generously.

I have crossed an ocean once before, but on a ship much much larger. This is the first time on a sailboat, and I am taking heed of many others who have gone before. It was particularly helpful to read the log and watch the video of 100 Rabbits’ YouTube Channel, who crossed much the same this summer. It was harrowing at times, so I must be ready.
