Departing from Gaspé, Quebec we sail down the coast to Rock Perce to tie up at L’Anse-à-Beaufils. From there we sail to Chandler and then cross the Baie des Chaleurs in gusty conditions, to Caraquet, on New Brunswick’s Acadien Coast.
Chandler proved to be a pleasant stop although not really a typical destination, what appears to be a dormant pulp and paper mill looms behind the towns fine sandy beach.
The town has a population of about 8000 people and shops are within walking distance of the small marina.
