8 DIY rigging replacement: Our headstay must go!

What do you do when you’re on a shoestring budget and your friendly neighborhood sailboat rigger quotes you over $9500 to install a new jib furler and repair a torn jib?? You do it yourself for half the price! In today’s episode, we finally manage to release our stuck jib and get a good look at the damage it sustained from a suspected impact. We send it off for repairs and get to work disconnecting our damaged jib furler. We also drop our chafed headstay, and replace the whole assembly ourselves, having no experience and only YouTube University as a guide! We at FLOW love a challenge, and this one did not disappoint!
