With the worst part of the Singapore Strait behind us, we still had to navigate the rest of the shipping lanes to relative safety on the eastern side of the Malaysian peninsula. We opted to try our luck closer to shore and weave through the hazards, keeping clear of the big ships.
Arriving in the shelter of Jason’s bay was a relief after several days of full-on tanker dodging.
But when we reached Pulau Tinggi, we knew we had arrived where we wanted to be, and why we had run the gauntlet of Singapore.
At last, the pure shores of the South China Seas!
