“Sailing in Indonesia is dangerous,” according to people who have never been there. Living on a sailboat brings you into contact with all kinds of people, and without fail we have received the warmest of welcomes as we discover Indonesia.
We have seen these enormous fruit bats from India to Indonesia, and they never fail to impress with their size, quantity and noise. Jamie saw something he’s never seen before among the mangroves of this deserted islet: an eagle vs bat, one a carnivore and the other a herbivore. Unsurprisingly, the bats made quite a racket as their predators circled overhead.
