We live aboard our antique sailboat, Temptress, where we (Emily and Clark) fix almost everything ourselves. Today, Clark was going to teach Emily how to clean a winch, but then a neighbor’s refrigerator broke, and he went to help them. So Emily figured it out herself. In this video, she takes apart a Barient 22 (1968) to clean and lubricate the outermost parts. It’s a messy job, but not a very tough one. If she can do it, you can too!
(P.S. Emily here: Yes, I call it a “prawl” a instead of a “pawl” over and over in this video. Clark is a high-functioning dyslexic and spelling and pronunciation are two of his weaknesses, so sometimes he accidentally teaches me the wrong words. So please be kind to both of us when we make mistakes.)
