How do you provision, preserve, and prepare food for long-term boat life? With limited space, energy, and access to groceries, eating well over 3-5 year trip takes careful planning and ongoing maintenance. We like to think of ourselves as preppers, minimalists, and foodies all at the same time, and like to be as frugal and sustainable as we can. We of course pick up fresh ingredients throughout our travels, but it’s nice to leave with a well-stocked boat, full of our favorite, cost-effective, easy-to-prepare foods. In this collection of videos, we will share our food philosophy with other sailors, cruisers, and those interested in long-term food planning, and working with a small kitchen, so stay tuned and subscribe to learn all about FOOD ON A BOAT!
FOOD ON A BOAT will cover:
– Provisioning Food (what to bring, what not to bring, equipment, supplies, organization, shopping)
– Preserving Food (canning, vaccuum-sealing, dehydrating, and other methods)
– Preparing Food (recipes, meal planning, local ingredients, and cooking off-grid)
Please leave questions, comments, and ideas about this series in the comments below, and be sure to subscribe. We have many topics to cover.
