I didn't realize just how big a sail was until we had to take ours down....after a hurricane destroyed it. Then we go on a whirlwind of a journey getting a new $10,000 for free...mexico, border crossings, smuggler, dead drops. But in the end we get this new sail and compare it to tons of different everyday things.
It's been 2 years since Hurricane Beryl hit the Texas coast and destroyed our mainsail. Luckily @ParlayRevival (thanks Colin!) gifted us with a new sail just before they crossed the Pacific Ocean years ago, but the problem was it was too big to fly home. This is the story of how we went back down to find it years later and how we found a guy to "get" it across the border!
