.We visit Matakana Farmers’ Market and taste test loads of local food and wine, find wild figs in the hills, walk on iconic Motutapu Island discovering its military and cultural history and view Motutapu Outdoor Education Centre from a distance. We meet local connoisseurs who introduce us to feijoa wine by Lothlorien and together save a native bird on Beehive Island. We meet local artist Ruby Watson and admire her clothing designs. We get clears for our rear cockpit fitted by Gulf Harbour Covers, spending a week in beautiful Gulf Harbour Marina. Finally we get a photo of the Blue Penguin, see thousands of petrel feeding and come across unwell Paradise Shelduck.
