🎉 Bushpoint Sailing made it to Bear Island, halfway between mainland Norway and Svalbard, now this is really Arctic Sailing!
We braved the icy Arctic Ocean (3.5°C / 38°F) and took the plunge to officially join the Bear Island Naked Bathing Club — a quirky tradition and one of the true highlights of this entire sailing season!
After anchoring near the remote Norwegian meteorological station, we waited for favorable winds before continuing our journey to Spitsbergen in the Svalbard archipelago. But not before diving headfirst into Arctic waters – a memory we’ll never forget.
