When we bought our sailboat, we expected life to throw many great adventures at us. We did not expect to fall head over heels for the beautiful town of New Bern, North Carolina. This hurricane season, we found a beautiful 100-year-old Colonial Revival house. The house called to us, and we had to have it. After working through a difficult closing, the deal was done, and we became proud owners of a historic home. It's a big project. So, we are going to tackle it room by room, starting with the half bathroom. Last episode, we began the demolition by removing all of the old wallpaper. This week we take down the solid wood door and begin the process of restoring the door to it's former glory. There will be lots of paint stripper and sanding involved. Oh and we install a new sump pump because a tropical storm is on the way.
We hope you enjoy the journey with us.
