What’s it like to sail into the busiest container port in the world? Well after sailing through the night, we get to do just that, sailing through the seawall that shelters the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach from the Pacific.
Once we arrive in Long Beach, we check out a haunted house at the Queen Mary and catch up on some chores around the boat before setting sail again. Heading South to San Diego, we soak up the sun, taking a baths with buckets of seawater on the deck and discuss our power consumption on the boat and plans to upgrade our solar system.
Sailing through the night, we arrive San Diego in the early hours of the morning. Headed towards the cruiser’s anchorage, we first have to deal with a very lengthy and confusing “check in” process.
