NO CHOICE – we HAD to go up the MAST on our SAILBOAT l Week 7 Aboard Phoenix

This week we go sailing around #sydney Harbour. As we are coming to learn about #boatlife the HIGHS are high; fireworks, perfect sailing conditions, cliff jumps and clear water swimming.

The lows however were LOW. We had SERIOUS engine issues we had to troubleshoot ourselves. WATER inside the boat. And we had to hoist Christian up the mast, maybe you can guess why?

We find some hidden gems like waterfalls, places to cliff jump and we had to go up the mast for the first time. We were in Sydney for New Year’s Eve so we anchored to enjoy the fireworks, all was going well until we hit some SERIOUS engine issues. No one wants to see salt water in their boat but that’s what we were faced with! Join us as we trouble shoot and explore our way around the iconic Australian harbour. This time we were joined by our friend Ed who is as handy in the kitchen as he is on the helm!

In this video you’ll find:
00:38 Going up the mast
02:50 Sydney Harbour fireworks
04:00 Sailing past Sydney Opera House
04:45 Troubleshooting sailboat engine issue
06:00 Cliff jumping spot in Sydney Harbour

A bit about us, we are Jen and Christian, a couple who after two years of pandemic restrictions decided to pack it all in, buy a #sailboat (a #bavaria 36) and live aboard. We are are currently exploring our way up the East coast of Australia. Join us as we learn what it’s like to #liveaboard and explore #australia by sea.

We share our #sailing adventures weekly and to keep up to date you can follow our journey on Instagram https://instagram.com/aboardphoenix
