Heya, we’re Cozzy and Mitcho. Thanks for joining us on our Sailing Ocean Life and for sailing with us as we spend some time exploring and enjoying Stunning Serrurier island which is located just off Exmouth.

Whilst the time has come to head home, we’re still not sure if we can make it in time for Christmas as we’ll be sailing south against strong south easterlies, so we’re headed to Exmouth for a while. Exmouth is a friendly town about 1,250km (779m) north of Perth and whilst the community is lovely, it’s super-hot and the kids (flies) are incessant, we know this from previous experience, so we’re doing a sneaky stop at Serrurier island along the way.

Serrurier island, also known as Long Island, is located 38nm north-east off Exmouth. It’s a special touch of paradise with long sandy beaches, amazing reefs to snorkel and an abundance of turtles, EVERYWHERE. We love it here; this is our fourth visit, and it never gets old. The greatest thing about Serrurier island is if the winds are heavily blowing the wrong way, we can sail around to the other side of the island to continue the dream! You’d love it!!! And the best thing ever is we saw a whole heap of turtles laying their baby eggs and we’ll be back to hopefully watch them hatch! Watch this space.

We were also very fortunate this time whilst at Serrurier to rescue two turtles that were sadly on their back, stuck just too far away from the water and even if the tides were to increase, they wouldn’t have been saved so we came along at just the right time. Sadly, we didn’t have our camera with us so captured NONE of it ☹ But we are so happy to have experienced that.
