The boat goes in the water. Then it comes out. Then in. Then out. | Launching a catamaran after winter, two leaks and a tractor that wasn't lined up. Sailing Queen Lizzy — liveaboard life aboard our Bali 4.6 catamaran in the Mediterranean.
We're Anne-Lill and Dean, an Australian couple sailing our Bali 4.6 catamaran across the Mediterranean — slowly building toward the big one: an offshore passage through French Polynesia and maybe home to Sydney. Real liveaboard life, no filter, no fluff.
This is the boatyard episode. A fender pump dies, a tractor turns up that isn't quite lined up with the trailer, and somewhere in all of it we find two leaks nobody can explain. Frederic comes onboard to help us get the sails back up, and we discover almost every batten in the main is broken. There are also, for reasons we still can't explain, kilt-clad rockers.
There's also a pub, which helps.
We're Australian; we probably should have known better, and we are starting the season anyway.
