This is getting ridiculous! New batteries sitting at 11.79v? Over $200 to repair the outboard? Leaking toilet? But this is just boat maintenance in paradise, dear viewer. This is what owning a boat is all about, so just take a deep breath and deal with each issue one at a time. Even so, 11.79v? If y...
How to swim with dolphins? Well the answer is simple. Wait until a mother and a baby swim next to your baot and then jump in.Welcome to what I think is my FAVOURITE EPISODE YET!
I had so much fun editing this. I hope you guys love it as much as I do!
Firstly, Allison decided that after several day...
In all the places we drop our anchor, we seem to always have a project to do on Uma. But we also try our best to make time to explore and get a feel for each area. We were amazed to see that San Juan has distinctively two sides: The full of big box stores part of the city, and the full of history an...
The time had finally come to leave Fiji and set sail down to New Zealand. This passage is notorious for being rough and it certainly didn't disappoint. For the first three days we bashed through big seas and strong winds which took a toll on both boat and crew.
It wasn't all bad though ...
Traumhaft.

Welcome everybody to Part 1 of what was possibly the most epic weekend sailing we've ever had.
We had a totally unexpected rendezvous with friends- some older, some brand new- in Francis Bay, St John and to celebrate we had a crazy lobster fest with lobsters we caught around the bay.
Hope y...
So after all the hard work we finally get Sea Horse back in the water and take some time out to run through the things that we have done this winter.

Was dieses Mal ...
While we were in Samana, we got a bunch of good projects done including installing our windlass which our backs will be extremely happy about. On our very last day, after we had our passports stamped and were ready to haul up the anchor, an unfortunate event happened. Yep, just like the title says.....
Our stay at Guadeloupe continues with a lot of fun!
We take a morning dip with the turtles, go hitchhiking along the coast and then we set sail to seek shelter in a marina. Later the boat gets a good cleaning and we head to the biggest Carneval on Guadeloupe!

The Whitsunday Islands on Australia's Great Barrier Reef are a Yachtie's haven with lush islands, white sandy beaches and beautiful coral outcrops. In this episode we sail to the Stonehaven Anchorage, service the engine, snorkel the beautiful Butterfly Bay and find an amazing waterfall !...

Do you know how it feels when there's 1,5 m high waves coming straight in to your anchorage? We got to experience it for a day and night and it was pretty uncomfortable! In this EXTRA long episode we explore Guadeloupe together with Johan's parents and make a quick visit in Les Saintes to ...
Now that we were sans guests, we had a little bit more exploring of Fiji to do. We found the beautiful Navadra island, complete with the only inhabitants: rogue goats. We were completely mystified as to how they ended up there, and the goats themselves weren't in a mood to answer our question...
So we are nearly at the end.
This week we finish off all those other jobs that need doing on the outside of the hull in preparation for launching her next week.

With the airports open, we find a flight and return to our floating home in the DR. A few quick stops in Santo Domingo to pick up everything we need to add a few life changing improvements to our boat.
We'll be doing a more in depth review and installation of the Keco cooler later. But for n...

"These shoes are made for walking"... Well maybe not with flip flops when you're hiking in the forest ;) Join us as we explore Terre De Haut in Les Saintes by walking up and down the hills. It's such a beautiful island and so colorful. Then we sail to Guadeloupe along the west co...
We are coming to the end of the list... or at least as much of the list as we are going to get done this year :-) and so we are now starting work on the outside.
So this week its dealing with the rusty keel, filling priming and painting.

Before hauling our sailboat out and putting it on the hard, we decided to try to do some scuba diving in the Gulf of Mexico, but ended up with food poisoning at sea.
