While we were rowing the dinghy against the current in the Hudson River our oarlock broke. With each of us paddling an oar, we barely made it to the marina dock. There were no stores in Manhattan with oar locks in stock, but we did have spares on Paragon. We just had to get back to Paragon.

While I was in Ganges I had noticed the many interesting and sometimes surprising ways that boats are tied to the dock. One 46 sailboat had one line which was that yellow 3 strand floating braided line that deteriorates quite badly when exposed to sunlight!

This is the final episode for the 2014 November Cruise. I spent my last full day in Ganges wandering around the docks and taking it easy then left on Saturday for home. Unfortunately I didn't have the same exciting sail home as I did going to Ganges, but it was still a great day on the water!...
I spent the day wandering around little town of Ganges on Saltspring Island and enjoyed the beautiful November weather we are having!
