Well here is part one of the story of my single-handed, non-stop sail around the world. It's a bit rough and I may rerecord but I think it is a good start. More to come as I think this will be a 6 part series. Thanks for the support on Patreon and in the comments.
On this special episode I wanted to tell the story that has haunted me for years, the Essex. Lost at sea, cannibalism, and a whales revenge! Thanks o all my listeners for keeping the show going.

Every sailing adventure starts with the departure. This video was filmed and edited by members of my family. And so the story begins with thoughts of the coming months, motivations to leave and Sparrow sailing off into the empty ocean.

A quick story about how I started off my adventures in Solo Sailing. Before the trip around the world I needed to figure out not only this boat but also how to sail her alone. This is the story of where and how I did that. Support the channel on Patreon;
Today we talk about what goes into living aboard a boat, buying one and taking it to the Caribbean for a winter season. Then I tell the tragic story of the Sean Seamour 2 sinking in a massive storm. I know not the best pare but hey I'm doing my best. Support the podcast on Patreon;
Sorry for the bad camera work but it was the early days of sailing for me and hey what can I say. I set sail from the BVI on a month long trip in the Atlantic to prepare for my trip around the world. This was filmed in 2016
A quick video showing how I hove-to and stop Sparrow in the water. Tropical Storm Wanda was fast approaching and I knew I couldn't get out of the way, so it was time to hold fast and take the beating.

Nearing the equator and heading south we got into some action. This is a good example of some of the squalls that you have to sail through in the doldrums. Drinking and sailing is not a good idea and I don't recommend doing it.
This is the first part of the trip that was suppose to go on for nearly a year. But the ocean can sometimes change the best made plans.
