Heya, we’re Cozzy and Mitcho, thanks for joining us on our Sailing Ocean Life. If you’re new here, welcome aboard. We’ve been sailing for the past two years, leaving Perth, WA to sail up the west coast of Oz to Darwin, and then sailing from East to West through Indonesia. We’d love you to watch our previous episodes to catch up on our adventures.

Last week we left Hoga where we enjoyed some of the best snorkelling we’ve experienced, caught up with some fellow rally peeps, and explored the extraordinary Sampela stilt village, those people are so happy regardless of what little they have.

We sailed into Wangi Wangi with one of our favourite crew members on board, we were lucky enough to have Captain Kon from SV Somerset sail with us again. Wangi Wangi is one of four islands that make up the Wakatobi archipelago, with Wanci being its main and busiest town.
We had some fun exploring the village on a motorbike, where we stumbled upon some cute little places like the Ikan Terapi or Fish Therapy Pond near the village of Liya Togo.
The locals call it the Thousand Ladder and we could see why after we climbed down the 250 or so steps, phew. This freshwater spring has been designed especially for tourists and when your feet are dipped into the cool, clear water, tiny fish swim all over your feet (and if you’re squeamish mute for a second), to eat your dead skin cells. I know it sounds ghastly, but it feels fabulous, leaving your feet feeling fresh and clean.

Wangi Wangi was the first opportunity we’d had to tie our boats to a jetty, so some of the boats used this chance to do boat maintenance, which was the perfect place as the village offered a variety of boat parts and services. The jetty became the town hot spot with the Wanci town folk visiting us every night and even seeing us off, no matter what time we left.
Our next stop was Pasar Wajo, and we were keen to get there to meet my sister Lynnie who was landing in Bau Bau. If Lynnie were a cake her recipe would be, a large packet of love, mixed with a gallon of fun, add to that a tonne of kindness, throw in classy, charismatic, gregarious, and a pinch of crazy, and cook until sizzling hot and voila out comes my loyal, lovely sister.
