🚨 Near Disaster at Chapman's Pool! 🚨
Our first week on our journey around the world nearly ends in disaster!!. In this episode, we find ourselves in a tense situation when our rudder strikes a rogue rock, forcing us out of Chapman's Pool and into high overfalls. With 25-knot winds and opposing tides, conditions quickly become chaotic. To make matters worse, an issue with our anchor winch adds to the drama as we scramble to regain control. With nowhere safe to go, we make a tough call to head back to Poole Harbour—just as another storm rolls in.
After a comedy of errors with the equipment, we eventually make it to Dartmouth, where we spend a week dodging gales and battling strong river currents as we continue to familiarize ourselves with our new boat. It's all part of the adventure as we push through the challenges of offshore sailing!
