This is our DIY, Do It Yourself, 100L/hr watermaker that we built from scratch during lockdown which cost us around $1,000 (EURO) total from standard parts we bought online. I must admit, we had the High Pressure pump gifted to us, so it may cost you guys a tiny bit more, so lets round it up to about $1,500 and you have yourself a water maker for your boat that would normally cost you about $4,000-5,000.
Well, that’s not entirely true, a $5,000 system will have power saving pumps, digital circuitboards with self flushing systems and alarms, but as we’re going to be out in remote places traveling around the world, we wanted everything to be extremely simple and easily fixed because out here on the water we’re constantly hearing everyone complain about issues with their watermakers having to wait weeks for spare parts or diagnostics.
