Indonesia's hidden GEMS
Heya, we’re Cozzy and Mitcho. Thanks for joining us on our Sailing Ocean Life, this week we are delighted by the treasurers that await us in Tifu.
Tifu is a small, predominantly protestant village on the south side of Buru Island surrounded by lush, tropical forests and is home to exactly 327 warm-hearted people. Being a protestant village, they regularly attend Sunday Christian church services - there’s no call to prayer to wake us up at 4am here.
Their lives are simple and uncomplicated, the kids are fortunate to attend school, where they learn music, they love to play their ukeleles and do so to entertain what little guests they welcome into their humble little village.
After our experience with the children in Ambon, who, whilst were harmless, we found to be a little too excited to see us, so we were a little cautious about welcoming the kids on board our boat in Tifu, but we found them to be well behaved and full of fun.
We left Tifu with our hearts overflowing with love and joy, and we hope to return one day. Thanks so much for coming aboard on our Indonesia adventures, we appreciate you sticking around. It’s always more fun having you here!
