Episode 12 sees us getting sticky with the first layer going down on the Hull of our 40 Foot Catamaran Mold. A full day of laminating Vinyl Ester Resin and a layer of Fibreglass Cloth form the Skin Coat or Tie Layer that bonds the outside Gel Coat to the hull Structure. Considered to be the most important layer , this forms the barrier for protection of the outer finish and building blocks for a composite fibreglass GRP Catamaran.
