Hey Legends,
We’ve finally made it to Tortola in the British Virgin Islands… and this is the moment we first lay eyes on our new floating home.
After selling everything and hitting reset on life, we’ve been housesitting, dreaming, and chasing our way back to the water. A failed boat search in Phuket led us to take a wild leap on a boat we couldn’t even see in person, a cheeky offer, a nervous wait, and suddenly… she was ours.
From our humble old yacht to a modern catamaran beyond our wildest dreams, this episode captures the raw first moments: excitement, disbelief, and the reality check of jobs waiting (hello antifoul and prop prep).
We’re not rich - we’re sailing on courage, careful planning, and a love for the nomadic life. Freedom is the fuel, and the Caribbean is calling.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Salty Days without a little drama…
An engine alarm, a quick problem-solve, and a lesson learned the memorable way.
And just when we think it’s smooth sailing?
Next stop: St Martin - where things take a serious turn and we actually get impounded.
