Armel Le Cleac’h has reached Cape Leeuwin Australia at the head of the fleet and Brit Alex Thomson in his German Hugo Boss Mercedes Benz machine was 60 miles behind. Kiwi Conrad Colman was a leg back at the Cape of Good Hope and after his huge knock-down has lost his big Gennaker overboard. He’s going to find the Southern Ocean difficult now without that sail but as he said it was either the mast or the sail.
Romain Attanasio, skipper of the Famille Mary – Etamine du Lys boat hit a UFO (unidentified floating object) and Sebastien Joss on Edmond de Rothschild as alkso hit an UFO and damaged his rudders. Or as the French commentator said “ruders”.
The huge news is Sebastien Desmarau has complted his complex set-up to start his motor and guess what? IT WORKS!!!!
