Edmund De Rothschild the huge Maxi Ultim was first around the rock and just in, home to the finish of the race in Cherbourg, France.
Skippers, Franck Cammas and Charles Caudrelier led a top French crew to a race winning average speed of just under 21 knots.
Meanwhile back at the rock is “peak-hour” as the other 300 odd boats fight it our for places in the confused seas off the Irish coast.
