An astonishing light-airs battle decided the Line Honours winner for the Roschier Baltic Sea Race. “I Love Poland” crossed the finish line just 700 metres ahead of Tilmar Hansen’s German TP52, “Outsider.”

After composite repair work late into the night, as well as remedial work to the engines of their support Rib, the Plattner family’s Phoenix team, made a strong start to Puerto Portals 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week, winning one race and taking third in the next, to finish the first day atop the leader board.
Cherbourg-en-Cotentin welcomed a first-class fleet like in 2020, and with the arrival of the 3rd edition in 2022, 12 classes, crewed, double-handed and solo, were invited to take the start last week.
Boris Herrmann’s offshore sailing team, launched their new race-yacht as scheduled last week, after 18 months of innovative design and construction. With its spoon bow, and chistera-shaped foils, the Malizia – Seaexplorer, and the international team are ready to race again.
During the second scheduled race from the island of Nisyros to the island of Tilos, the crews participating in the “Rodos Cup 2022” had another intense sailing experience.
,The 2022 Mark Foy Trophy, international 18 footer skiff regatta, was contested on Lake Garda Italy from July 18-20, and it became the 14th regatta of the championship series to honour the name of the man who was the ‘father’ of the class on Sydney Harbour back in 1892.

Sam Davies of Initiative Coeur fame has a new IMOCA 60 boat, built for the 2024 Vendee Globe Race. The boats’ foils are streamlined wings that move in the water, and transmit a lift force to make it take off at downwind speeds. They bring a significant gain in performance and speed.
The RORC’s bi-annual Rolex Fastnet Race will be held again in 2023.
Starting in Cowes on the Isle Of Wight, and heading west to round the Fastnet light off the coast of Ireland, to return to finish in Cherbourg France. It is the biggest offshore race in Sailing.
Day 2 of KiteFoil World Series Gizzeria produced slightly lighter winds, and threw some subtly different challenges at the 96 riders competing in the south of Italy.
