Team Malizia – Boris Herrmann winning finiash of the final leeg of this Ocean Race in Genova Italy yesterday. The action is filmed from their “Chase Boat’ so please excuse if the action is a bit shaky at times. It shows what a happy, well oiled team Team Malizia under Skipper Boris Herrmann. We are so happy to have closely followed the team during this edition of the round world race. Whilst they cannot win they did in the most important legs, Leg 3 from Cape Town across the brutal Souther Ocean to Brazil and now Leg 7, the final act, in this race.
They deserve our congratulations.
11th Hour Racing will win the race as they are only one point behind and in the accident protest meeting they will certainly get at least that from the committee giving them their deserved win. They started out behing the fleet but when they inserted thei new foils they completely changed their boat for the better.
They deserve their win. It’s been a difficult event with a poor take-up. Hopefully next time they can improve the take-up.
