On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. We got permission to sail! It was an administrative adventure with Maritime Police and Port Authority. First because of the pandemic and restrictions being slowly lifted and second Cape Verdean nationals need special permission from the port authority to travel on a vessel with a foreign flag. But in the end we got permission to sail captain. It was the first time for a group of friends to discover their island by sea. I was accompanied by Peixe, Jodie, Lily, Marizia, Fanie and Wendy. We went to one of our favourite anchorages on the island of Sao Vicente. We swam, ate, drank and danced. The next day Peixe took us to a seclude black sand beach. Then we made our way back to our anchorage for the night, rested so we could continue our adventures at another beach with natural pools.
