In this video episode, Wildly Intrepid Sailing shares an exciting stop they made while sailing along the Hudson River – Athens, New York. The stunning architecture in the town is a main reason for their visit and the channel provides an update on the ongoing leaks and window issues of their boat. They also demonstrate how to mount solar panels.

The must-stop location along the Hudson River

Athens, New York, is a must-visit spot for its impressive architecture and welcoming coffee shops. Wildly Intrepid Sailing explores this quaint town while continuing their ongoing quest to fix leaks and windows on the boat.

Boat maintenance updates

The video shows Cory and Emma dealing with persistent window leaks, despite previous fixes. They’re at the point where they may need to replace the windows entirely. Wildly Intrepid Sailing discusses using a 3M product for the windows but it didn’t hold up as expected. The next plan is to use Dow 7 or other products, and if that doesn’t work, replacing with used stainless steel Port Lights could be an option.

Solar panel mounting demo

The duo demonstrates how they mounted their solar panels to allow for tilt adjustments. They mount the rods onto stainless tubing and secure it at each end with a bolt, making it easy to remove and reposition whenever desired.

Anchoring challenges

The couple faces anchoring difficulties in the video as they attempt to drop anchor amid 17 to 20 knot winds and current. Despite having a 65-pound Mantis anchor, setting it securely can be challenging under such conditions.

Routine updates

In addition to their adventures on the water and in Athens, the video also captures daily routines such as cleaning the boat, dealing with leaks, organizing the cockpit, and enjoying a meal. They show off their new baby’s crawling skills and talk about taking care of their boat while on land.

Sailing advice

The video provides insights into the importance of regular maintenance, such as fixing leaks and dealing with worn parts. They also share their experience in adjusting solar panel angles for optimal efficiency.

Finding inspiration in every adventure

The final moments of the video find Wildly Intrepid Sailing appreciating the sunrise, discussing their love for their boat and the joys of exploring new places together. They highlight that it’s the journey itself – not just the destination – that matters.

Motivation to continue the journey

The video encourages viewers to take risks and explore new horizons. Despite facing various challenges during their adventures, Wildly Intrepid Sailing maintains a positive outlook and inspires others to embrace life’s surprises.
